Forest owners in Japan carry out planned forest work, such as thinning and planting, under a forest management plan. The method credits the extra CO2 taken up by the trees above and below ground, compared with forests where that management does not continue.

Additionality: the methodology itself gives it in two cases (FO-001 Ver.6.3 付記1, p. 20). In the first, the project plans no final felling in the certification period. In the second, the project plans to replant every stand where it plans a final felling. In other cases, the project must show that its revenue in the period is lower than its costs.
