Under decision 4/CMP.20 of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (FCCC/KP/CMP/2025/7/Add.1, paragraph 5), the submission of requests for issuance of new CERs was discontinued as of 30 June 2026; requests to transfer CERs to the Article 6.4 mechanism registry, cancellations and any other transactions in the CDM registry are discontinued as of 31 December 2026. The UNEP-CCC Article 6 Pipeline (checked 2 Nov 2026) lists a request to move this activity to the Article 6.4 mechanism and no approval of it; approvals were due by 30 June 2026 (decision 20/CMA.7, paragraph 25).
