Score Breakdown

Integrity

verified The verification report confirms additionality through an investment test and the VVB is named as Bureau Veritas (India) Pvt Ltd.

missing Leakage is not addressed in the monitoring report, and reversal treatment is not stated in the extracted record.

Transparency

verified The project has a named VVB, a defined monitoring period from 2023-03-01 to 2024-04-30, and a recent baseline reassessment in 2024.

missing Total claimed and verified emission reductions are not stated in the extracted record, and extraction confidence is low.

Claim Safety

verified The project is a Gold Standard certified solar avoidance project using ACM0002, which is generally a lower-risk category than many removal projects.

missing Leakage justification is marked as not addressed, and the project is listed as CORSIA eligible and CCP eligible, which keeps market-claim risk elevated.

Documentation

verified Multiple official documents were used, including the PDD, validation report, and monitoring report.

missing The monitoring report contains several findings and corrective actions, and the extraction confidence is low, indicating readability or completeness issues.

Detailed Analysis

Integrity

The project benefits from VVB-confirmed additionality via an investment test, and the baseline method is stated as project-based with a reassessment in 2024. That said, leakage is explicitly not addressed, buffer pool coverage is not found, and reversal handling is not stated, which limits confidence in long-term environmental integrity.

Transparency

The record identifies the VVB, the monitoring period, and the methodology version, which helps traceability. However, the extracted record does not state total claimed or verified ERs, usage monitoring details, or any FNRB value, and the low extraction confidence suggests at least one key document was difficult to read.

Claim Safety

Claim safety is moderate because this is a solar avoidance project under Gold Standard with a standard methodology, but the absence of leakage treatment weakens over-crediting protection. The project is marked as CORSIA eligible and CCP eligible, so the claim environment is not especially conservative, and the record does not provide usage-rate evidence to test any downstream assumptions.

Documentation

Documentation breadth is decent because the extracted set includes the PDD, validation report, and monitoring report, and the project has a named verifier. Still, the monitoring report lists multiple findings and corrective actions, and the low extraction confidence indicates that some source material was poorly readable or incomplete in extraction.

Overall

I privileged the monitoring report for the crediting period because it is the most recent and specific source, even though it conflicts with an older date range in another document; this lowers reliability somewhat. I also privileged the validation report for benefit sharing and CCP eligibility because it is the higher-priority certification document, while the PDD’s lack of mention is not enough to override it. Overall, the project looks credible but not high-confidence due to unresolved leakage treatment, unclear reversal handling, multiple corrective actions, and low extraction confidence.

Audit Analysis

This is a certified Gold Standard solar avoidance project with VVB-confirmed additionality and a recent baseline reassessment, which supports moderate integrity. However, leakage is not addressed, reversal treatment is unclear, and the record contains several corrective actions plus low extraction confidence, which weakens confidence in the documentation and claim safety.

Project Description

BMT Solar Farm is a greenfield grid-connected photovoltaic solar power plant project will be constructed in a 36-hectare property in EA Phe Commune and Krong Puk Commune, Krong Pak District, Dak Lak Province, Vietnam. The project is owned by BMT Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company. The project has a total installed capacity of 30MW, with a predicted power supply to the grid of 43,224 MWh per annum. The entire electricity generated by the solar farm will be fed into the Vietnam national grid (hereafter referred as “the grid”) without any Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. The operational lifetime of the solar farm is 25 years. Currently the electricity supplied by the grid is relatively carbon intensive, with a combined margin emission factor of 0.8492 tCO2/MWh. The electricity generation will result 36,706 tCO2e/year and total emission reduction will be 183,530 tCO2e for the first crediting period of 5 years.

Red Flags

  • Leakage is explicitly marked as not addressed, with no quantified deduction found in the monitoring record.
  • The monitoring report lists multiple corrective actions and findings, and the extraction confidence is low, reducing trust in completeness.

Cosa migliorerebbe questo punteggio

  • Provide a clear quantified leakage assessment and explain why leakage is negligible or how it is deducted.
  • Publish the verified emission reduction totals, reversal/buffer treatment, and a cleaner audit trail for the corrective actions and findings.

Questi suggerimenti indicano quali prove pubbliche aggiuntive potrebbero migliorare il livello di confidenza di questa valutazione. Non garantiscono un punteggio futuro più alto.
